Ocean City Beaches Will Stay Closed for Memorial Day
Memorial Day weekend will be here before we know it, but unfortunately it won’t look like the usually holiday down the shore some are used to.
Michelle Gillian, who heads up the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce, told WHYY the usual holiday weekend plans are off, including the traditional unlocking of the beach.
Gillian says they are preparing for the parameters that will be i place when they do officially open the beach and start expecting tourists in Ocean City.
This comes as Gov. Murphy outlined his approach for reopening the state with a six point plan, but did not set a date for reopening.
“I think June sounds reasonable, a little ambitious for some but pretty reasonable,” she said.
