Embiid Fined $25,000 After Post Game Interview
The NBA has fined Joel Embiid $25,000 for giving Atlanta Hawks guard Kevin Huerter the middle finger and for cursing on live television during a post game interview with NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Serena Winters.
Embiid made the obscene gesture late in the fourth quarter of Monday’s 129-112 win over the Hawks after the opposing guard stole the ball from Embiid as he aimed to run out the clock.
The Sixers big man apologized to TV viewers for the gesture in an interview with Winters after the game, but not before cursing in a response to Winters’ question of whether he considers himself the best player in the world.
“F–k it, my bad, I do believe it. When I play like tonight, anything can happen,” was Embiid’s response that got him in trouble.
