On Wednesday Howie Roseman righted a wrong by trading Jalen Reagor to the Vikings for a 2023 7th round pick and a 2024 conditional 4th round pick. It may end up turning into a 5th round pick, but considering Reagor had no spot on the Eagles then the value is great. But no GM loves trades MORE than Howie Roseman. and “Trader Howie” is at it again this season already!

Howie Roseman was promoted to Eagles GM in 2010 and he held the title until 2014 when Chip Kelly made him go to the basement and polish trophies that didn’t exist. In 2019 he returned to the role as GM and has been there ever since.

These arent in any particular order, but these are some of the best trades Howie Roseman has made since being the GM of the team.

  • AJ Brown

This came out of NOWHERE. On draft night 2022 the Eagles were getting ready for their second first round pick when they traded it, along with a 3rd round pick, away for 1000 yard receiver AJ Brown. The Titans then used that pick to draft Treylon Burks…who, if he pans out will be AJ Brown. So this is a win.

  • Jay Ajayi

As the Eagles were loading up for a Super Bowl run they made a trade at the deadline for a former 1000 yard running back in Jay Ajayi. Ajayi proved to be a great compliment along with Legarrette Blount and Corey Clement. The Eagles ended up winning the Super Bowl so the deal worked out.

  • Sam Bradford Trade To The Vikings

On what planet was Sam Bradford worth a 1st round pick?! The Eagles fleeced the Vikings thanks to their desperation after Teddy Bridgewater went down. The Vikings failed to make the playoffs and the Eagles took Derek Barnett with the selection.

  • Carson Wentz Trade Up

The Eagles went from 13 to 2 for the 2016 draft. Trading Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell to the Dolphins to get to pick 8, and then trading pick 8, a 3rd, a 4th, and next years first round pick to the Browns for Wentz. Wentz had an almost MVP season in 2017 and was a big part of the Super Bowl team

  • Carson Wentz trade to the Colts

But then it went sideways. Carson Wentz failed to relate to his teammates and ended up being a pariah in the locker room. His poor play lost him his starting spot and the Eagles were tasked with shipping him off. The Eagles traded him to the Colts for a 2021 3rd round pick and what eventually became a 2022 1st round pick. A year later the Colts traded Wentz tot he Commanders.

  • Trade Up For DeVonta Smith

The Eagles were in the market for a WR entering the 2021 NFL draft. It was no secret. But so were the division rival Giants. The Giants drafted 11th and the Eagles drafted 12th. So the Eagles traded up with the Cowboys, giving up a 3rd round pick, to take Smith. Smith proved to be as advertised.

  • Miami's First Round Pick

The Eagles shocked most of the fan base in 2021 by trading their own pick (6th overall) to the Dolphins for the 12th pick. This assured the Eagles wouldnt get either Jamarr Chase or Kyle Pitts who most thought would be there at 6. Howie, however, did not believe that and he was right. The Dolphins took Jaylen Waddle who is a really good WR. But the Eagles ended up with DeVonta Smith and the Dolphins first round pick which they used to trade up for Jordan Davis

  • Acquiring The Pick That Became Jason Kelce

In 2011 the Eagles traded back in the 3rd round a few spots. They acquired a 6th round pick for their trouble. The 3rd round pick was a major bust (Curtis Marsh) but the 6th round pick became a future Hall of Famer in Jason Kelce.

  • Darren Sproles

The Eagles got one of the most dynamic running backs in Darren Sproles. They gave up a 5th round pick. Sproles was banged up for the backend of his Eagles career but when he was on the field he was electric.

  • DeMeco Ryans

The Eagles have been searching for a franchise LB for years now. And in 2012 they decided to poach another organizations franchise LB by trading a 3rd and 4th round pick to the Texans for DeMeco Ryans. In his first two years Ryans had over 100 tackles and was a stud. But the reason this trade is on the list is because along with Ryans the team acquired a 3rd round pick. That 3rd round pick became Nick Foles. So for a 3rd and 4th they got DeMeco Ryans and BDN. Not too shabby.

  • CJ Gardner-Johnson

While we dont know YET how this deal will pan out, everyone in New Orleans seems to be pissed that the Eagles gave up just a 5th and 6th round picks. So sure, we will put it on the list!

  • Darius Slay

“Big Play Slay” was stolen from the Lions for a 3rd round pick. He was one of the best corner backs in the league in 2021 and is poised for another big season in 2022
