Audio Vault- Jalen Carter Falls Into the Eagles Lap

Everything seemed to break the Eagles' way last night. We sat there and worried that each pick would be Carter. But team after team passed on him. Letting him fall all the way to 9. The Eagles then made the move, giving up just a future 4th round pick to jump up one spot and take the guy everyone knew they wanted all along.

Off-the-field issues aside, it is hard to be happier with how it turned out for the Eagles. Many draft experts and Scouts considered Jalen Carter to be the most talented player in the draft. Legal trouble stemming from a crash that took the lives of two other people in the Georgia program made him fall. But Eagles evidently felt comfortable that they could work with him and keep him out of future trouble. And if they are right about that, they may have gotten the steal of the draft.

So today, Andrew and Anthony relived how Jalen Carter came to be an Eagle. The reaction to the pick. A Cowboys player being upset by it, and more. Relive the pick with Anthony and Andrew below.

Andrew started off the Vault like the draft started out. With the Panthers selecting Alabama QB Bryce Young. The least shocking pick of the night, that had a few shockers.

This one was a shock. And a relief to Eagles fans hoping Jalen Carter would keep falling. Though it may have disappointed those Eagles fans deadset on them taking Bijan.

And then Jalen Carter did fall to 9, letting the Eagles move up to get him. Eagles fans everywhere rejoiced. Andrew played the moment the pick was made, along with the analysis by the ESPN crew, with them gushing over how the Eagles just got the most talented player in the draft.

Obviously, the concern with Jalen Carter is the off-the-field stuff. Howie addressed those concerns in his post-first-round press conference. Andrew played what Howie had to say in the Vault today.

Both AJ Brown and Micah Parsons were part of a draft show with Bleacher Report. So we got to see both of their live reactions when the Eagles took Jalen Carter. And Micah was not pleased. AJ loved it though, and even started recruiting Micah to come to the Eagles. The only thing that made the Jalen Carter pick sweeter, was seeing the Cowboys and Micah Parson be so upset about it.
