Jared Verse Declares His Hate For Philadelphia And Eagles Fans
There is no love lost between Jared Verse and Eagles fans. The Rams rookie spoke to The LA Times recently ahead of Sunday’s Eagles-Rams game and made it clear exactly how he feels about the fans he will be playing in front of this weekend.
“I hate Eagles fans, They’re so annoying. I hate Eagles fans… When I see that green and white I hate it. I actually get upset. Like I actually genuinely get hot.”– Jared Verse said to Gary Klein of The LA Times
As a rookie, Verse has not yet actually played at the Linc. But the Rams did host the Eagles at SoFi Stadium in LA, and a lot of Eagles fans made the trip across the country for that game. According to Verse, those Eagles fans had some not-so-nice words for Verse. He claims the visiting fans hurled obscenities at him.
“I didn’t even do nothing to ’em… It was my first time playing. Oh, I hate Eagles fans.”
What Did Eagles Fans Have Against Jared Verse?
Eagles fans might have taken issue with his place as the favorite to win Rookie of The Year since many Eagles fans believe that honor should go to Quinyon Mitchell. Mitchell does not have the stats Verse has. Verse has 4.5 sacks and 77 QB Pressures. Mitchel only got his 1st interception this past weekend in the playoffs.
But fans have watched him play WRs like CeeDee Lamb, Ja’Marr Chase, Terry McLaurin, Puka Nacua, Malik Nabers, and Mike Evans, and shut them down. Apart from getting beat by McLaurin in the 2nd Commanders game, he has been near perfect.
Defensive Rookie Of The Year Is traditionally a stat-focused reward. It would be tough for someone who doesn’t watch Quinyon play every weekend to understand just how good he has been. Meanwhile, Verse leads all rookies in Sacks, and is 4th in the entire league in QB pressures.
That battle may play into why Eagles fans were heckling Verse. And now that he has publicly declared his hate for us, he is sure to hear even more of that this weekend at the Linc.
Before this becomes an anti-Eagles fans thing though, let’s just remind people Eagles fans raised over $27,000 and counting so far for Wild Fire relief. Eagles fans might curse in your face, but they will also turn around and help you when you need it.
