Most beer lovers know that a good beer bar should have a wide beer selection including several styles and local finds. Recently, USA Today released their 10Best beer bars in the U.S. list. And on their list is a Philly favorite.

The 10 best bars were selected by an expert panel and voted as the best in the U.S. by their readers. "Each offers a stellar selection of draft, bottled, and canned beers, many with a focus on local or regional selections," they wrote. They added, "Pair that with a relaxed atmosphere and knowledgeable bar staff ready to help any guest become a beer connoisseur, and you've got a recipe for a great beer bar."

Philadelphia’s Monk's Café snags a spot on the best beer bar list.

Monk's Café ranked in at number 9. The ranking pointed out that this beer bar "prioritizes fine beer." They also highlighted their "Beer Bible," which is a guide to help bargoers select the beer that best fits their palate, choosing from over 200 bottles and 25 taps.

According to Monk's café's website, they have been serving "world-class" beers there for over 26 years. In 2023, the bar was recognized as a Beard Foundation Awards Semi-Finalist for Outstanding Wine & Other Beverages Program.

The bar has 4.7 out of 5 stars on Google and over 3,500 reviews. One person left a review that said, "Everything was unreal and very affordable for how good it was." Another person said, "One of my favorite places in Philadelphia. Awesome beer selection and really great food." Someone else said, "We've been a few times over the years, and Monks never disappoints."

Monk's Café is located at 264 S. 16th Street. They’re open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. with a full menu until 11 p.m.
