Anthony’s Opening Diatribe- Reacting To Scary Damar Hamlin Incident
Anthony addressed the scary scene in last night’s game concerning Damar Hamlin in his opening diatribe this morning…
It is tough today to come in with all the smiles and the happiness when you see someone just fall like that last night. When you see someone go through that situation live on television. it was tough. It was really really difficult. And our prays go out to Damar Hamlin. We were talking about this all night last night. I know Johnny and Bobby were talking about it this morning. The whole sports world is gripped by it.
We saw someone have to be revived on the field. it was an awful situation. It is a reminder about life, and how perilous it is. We sit here today, and you have to thank your blessings. Just an awful situation. 24 years old and you are playing football. And it just is an oddity of a hit in the right spot of the chest. The next thing you know there is an ambulance on the field. he gets up, and the way he fell was chilling. It was absolutely chilling. His mom, god bless her, having to deal with that situation. Being in an ambulance and having to wonder if he is going to make it or not, he had to be revived on the field. It was just an awful situation.
And it is a stark reminder of how tenuous life is. It happens in the middle of a Football game where the whole country is watching. It was ABC. The game of the Week. Bengals vs the Bills. A showdown in the AFC… This is where there are wake-up calls. And I think the whole nation got one last night. I’ll tell you one thing, it was just lovely what happened later that night when you know Damar Hamlin had his toyy drive. he had a go fund me. And that charity where the goal was $2,500, is now well over $3 million. That is the outpouring of people around the country who along with prayers, donated. That shows our empathy. Shows what we are capable of. We always have to keep that in the front lobe of how we live our lives…
