Tim McManus Gives Up An Eagles Update After Open Practice
Tim McManus joined “The Best Show Ever?” earlier today to give an update from Eagles training camp after they had an open practice last night. He got into the Jalen Hurts to AJ Brown connection, Hurts showing he brings so much more than passing ability to this team, and Jordan Davis showing off his power.
On the Highlight Pass From Hurts to Brown
“Was more of what we have seen throughout camp. That connection has been the most prolific of any we have seen. It’s Jalen Hurts to AJ Brown all day. Especially since Devonta Smith went down with a groin injury. You could see the work they put in paying off on that play. One of the many highlights that duo has put together. And they got to do it in front of the fans last night.”
On Jalen Hurts Scrambling A Lot in the Open Practice
“Alot of the way he is being analyzed is in a pocket setting. Just as a traditional passer, because that is the way that a lot of these training camp practices are structured. Last night was a reminder he’s a lot more than that. If he’s going to be compared to the traditional accurate passers in the NFL, then yea he might fall short. But he obviously brings more to the table than that.”
On Jordan Davis Showing Off His Power
“Normally when rookies come in, they’re not asserting themselves physically like Jordan Davis does. Usually what the learning curve is in the NFL is for lineman in the NFL is they need to get stronger. They build up by year 2 or 3 and then they are competing with the big boys. He’s a big boy coming in… You could just see the sheer power of this guy… Everything Davis has shown so far shows he is ready to contribute right away.”
