BALTIMORE, MARYLAND - AUGUST 09: Nolan Smith Jr. #3 of the Philadelphia Eagles celebrates with teammates after a sack against the Baltimore Ravens in the third quarter of a preseason game at M&T Bank Stadium on August 09, 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Training Camp is almost over. We get the final game of the preseason this weekend, and then by Tuesday, we will know what the Eagles 53-man Roster looks like. But who will be on it? What surprise cuts could there be? Which guy who we thought had no chance played his way onto the roster?

The Eagles already shook this up a bit. On Thursday Howie Roseman did what Howie does, and made a surprise trade. He acquired Jahan Dotson and a 5th Round Pick from the Commanders for a 3rd-round pick and two 7th-round picks. Answering the question of who would win the WR3 job, and likely making a few guys who were battling for that spot nervous about their future.

But that is only 1 spot settled. There are 52 other spots we are waiting to hear about. But obviously the majority of those are already set in stone too. There are truly only a handful of spots 40 or so guys are fighting for. The final spots at the edge of each position group. Some position groups might not even have that wiggle room.

Who will fill out those final spots? Who will they keep at WR after AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, and Jahan Dotson? Can Tanner Mckee actually supplant Kenny Pickett as QB2? Who wins the final TE spot? How many of their cornerbacks will they keep? Does James Bradberry get cut, or did he do enough to convince the Eagles to keep him as a Safety?

The Eagles have to cut down the roster by Tuesday. So before that happens, let’s take a shot in the dark at predicting what the Eagles final 53-man Roster will look like.

Here Is The Final Eagles 53-man Roster Prediction:

  • QB (3)

    • Jalen Hurts
    • Kenny Pickett
    • Tanner McKee

No surprise here. Grier was never actually here to play, he was here to help Pickett implement his system. From the time they signed him, everyone knew he would be cut. The only question is who will the backup be. I don’t think they make the switch to McKee. Maybe if Pickett has to play, and looks as bad as he did in Pre-Season.

  • RB (3)

    • Saquon Barkley
    • Kenny Gainwell
    • Will Shipley

Again, not much debate here. Saquon, Kenny, and Will are locks. After them, there is no one worth keeping as a 4th RB. Kendall Milton hasn’t shown anything special in camp. Why keep a guy who would just be inactive every week?

EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY - DECEMBER 11: Saquon Barkley #26 of the New York Giants celebrates after scoring a five yard touchdown against the Green Bay Packers during the second quarter in the game at MetLife Stadium on December 11, 2023 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

  • WR (6)

    • AJ Brown
    • Devonta Smith
    • Jahan Dotson
    • Britain Covey
    • Johnny Wilson
    • Ainias Smith

The top 3, and even the top 4, are obvious here. The question is who rounds out the roster. I don’t think Parris Campbell and John Ross are worth keeping. If they, as vets, couldn’t win that Wr3 spot, what is the point? Keep the young guys, they might actually be able to help you.

  • TE (3)

    • Dallas Goedert
    • Grant Calcaterra
    • EJ Jenkins

No more Albert O. They traded for him last year. Kept him inactive all year. He did nothing when Goedert got hurt. And then we hear nothing from him in camp. We have heard a lot about EJ Jenkins though, and it sounds like he will be your TE3. Calcaterra is also on watch after putting up so little production in his first two seasons.

  • OL (10)

    • Lane Johnson
    • Mekhi Becton
    • Cam Jurgens
    • Landon Dickerson
    • Jordan Mailata
    • Tyler Steen
    • Fred Johnson
    • Trevor Keegan
    • Dylan McMahon
    • Darian Kinnard

This is the hardest position to predict. We know the starting 5. It is very clear Becton won the RG job. But who will be the backups? Steen is a lock, as is Fred Johnson. I think they hold onto the two draft picks too. That leaves Kinnard or Brett Toth. As much as they probably love the versatility of Toth, I think they need to hold onto another Tackle in Kinnard instead.

  • Edge- (5)

    • Bryce Huff
    • Josh Sweat
    • Nolan Smith
    • Brandon Graham
    • Jaylx Hunt
  • DL (5)

    • Jalen Carter
    • Jordan DavisĀ
    • Milton Williams
    • Moro Ojomo
    • Thomas Booker

  • LB (5)

    • Devin White
    • Zack Baun
    • Nakobe Dean
    • Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
    • Ben VanSumeren
  • Cornerback (6)

    • Darius Slay
    • Kelee Ringo
    • Quinyon Mitchell
    • Isaiah Rodgers
    • Cooper DeJean
    • Josh Jobe

This one is tough. The first 5 guys are locks. It comes down to Josh Jobe vs Eli Ricks. Neither should see the field much on defense with how much depth there is here. So the difference is the fact Jobe is a great Special Teams player. Cutting Ricks will be tough, they may try to trade him first, but if it comes down to keeping Jobe or Ricks, you keep Jobe.

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - JANUARY 29: Darius Slay #2 of the Philadelphia Eagles reacts prior to the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field on January 29, 2023 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

  • Safety (4)

    • CJ Gardner Johnson
    • Avonte Maddox
    • Reed Blankenship
    • Tristin McCollum

    PUP- Sydney Brown

It feels like Brown will miss the start of the season. So it gives them the space to hold onto an extra Safety for the first 4 weeks. I think Avonte Maddox sticks around, and maybe even gets a bulk of the playing time at the other Safety spot. And I think Bradberry is gone.

Once Brown gets back, it will be between McCollum and Maddox to see who goes to make room for him.

  • Special Teams (3)

    • Jake Elliott
    • Braden Mann
    • Rick Lovato

Nothing to even debate here. Mann solidified Punter last year after replacing Sipposs, Elliott is one of the best kickers in the league, and Lovato never makes a mistake as the long snapper. None of them have any competition in camp.
