Phillies Bats Vs Jose Quintana- NLDS Game 4 Preview
The Phillies season is on the line. They are throwing Ranger Suarez out to save the season, who has struggled the past 3 months. Meanwhile, the Mets will be throwing one of the hottest pitchers in the league out there, Jose Quintana.

In Quintana’s last 31 innings, across 5 starts, he gave up only 2 earned runs. Both of those came in his last regular season start vs the Brewers, but his next time out in the Wild Card round he pitched 6 scoreless against the Brewers, and before that he shutout both the Nationals and the Phillies across 7 innings, and shut the Reds out over 6.2 before that.
Pretty much, he has been fantastic. You could look at that as if he is due to get hit around. But you could also look at it and say this guy is locked in and gets to face a struggling Phillies lineup.
Jose Quintana vs The Phillies
We already mentioned him throwing 7 scoreless against the Phillies a couple of weeks ago. He gave up just 3 hits and walked no one.
But before that, they did get to him a bit. In one of those London games, they scored 3 runs over 3.2 innings. Before that, they scored 2 over 5.2 innings. Overall his career ERA against the Phillies is 3.53 ERA over 60 innings.
Let’s look at his stats vs each of the Phillies hitters though.

So not exactly inspiring individual numbers against him. Schwarber and Casty have had some luck, but Harper and Turner have struggled.
If you were looking for a reason to be optimistic, you won’t find it here. Everything about this matchup screams that it favors the Mets. The one source of hope is that Baseball is weird, and you would have thought based on matchups the Phillies would win game 1.
