Red October should be a joyous time for Phillies fans. It is like Christmas came early, and no place is better to be than Citizens Bank Park in the playoffs. A place so loud, it reaches decibels that your smartwatch will literally tell you is bad for your health. And after a 95-win season by the Phillies, Red October is back.

So are fans overjoyed? Some are. Others seem scared though. The team losing the last two seasons, plus a bad slump in July/August, has a chunk of this fanbase shaken.

Tyrone Johnson has had enough of fans acting scared though. When he opened up The Best Show Ever today he called out fans who are already preparing themselves for disappointment, as opposed to embracing their team.

Stop Being Scared About The Phillies

"I'm locked in for every pitch. Good or bad. And I'll take the consequences. Because the Phillies are my baseball team. But to have people out there saying, I want to sell my tickets to Mets fans. It very well could be the Mets, but we still don't even know the opponent yet. And you're already running for the hills scared like a punk.

I cannot pretend that we're in this together because we're not. If the Phillies lose, I'll be upset, but I'll be damned if ahead of time I'm going to be so afraid that I'm already checking out on my baseball team out of fear after they won 95 damn games. That is the height of pathetic and the fact that so many of you out there are doing it. I find it gross."

This team won 95 games. They have arguably the best bullpen and best starting rotation in baseball. They are top 5 in nearly offensive category. There is no good reason to be scared.

Will they win? We don't know. There are a lot of good teams. Baseball is weird, and the playoffs are even weirder. If you went off paper the Braves would have won easily last season. But this Phillies team beat them, and they beat them the year before that.

Of course, they could lose. The road even to the World Series is tough this year with several good teams in the mix. But this team is also very good. Even if you only look at September stats, they are 1st in doubles, 4th in runs, and 3rd in HRs. They aren't going into the playoffs cold as so many fans seem to think. In fact, their bats outperformed the "Red Hot Mets" over the last month.

So embrace red October. Enjoy it. Get on board the Phillies hype train. Don't miss out on the fun because you were too scared.

After the Philadelphia Phillies broke a long playoff drought with a wild card berth in the MLB Playoffs in 2022, the city suddenly remembered the euphoria of postseason baseball at Citizens Bank Park.

An unexpected run from the sixth seed in the National League reignited Red October like nobody could've expected after 11 years of disappointment.

The 2022 Phillies

The Phillies swept the St. Louis Cardinals in "Baseball Heaven" to get things started. They stunned the heavily favored Atlanta Braves and convinced an entire fan base to believe.

The incredible momentum continued through a dramatic series win against the San Diego Padres to clinch the National League pennant.

Although they couldn't finish off the Houston Astros in the World Series, the city of Philadelphia will always remember the 2022 Phillies for a miracle October ride that coincided with success for the Eagles, Union, Flyers, and 76ers during the best month in Philadelphia sports history.

Relive the whirlwind of an unforgettable October with rally towels waving in the autumn air, the tension of living and dying with every pitch, and one of the best runs in Phillies franchise history.
