A few popular food trucks in the Northeast have been named the best in America by the experts at the Food Network. Food trucks are really all the rage right now. I'm always excited to try a new food truck and am rarely disappointed. Over the summer, I was at a music festival and ordered a hummus sandwich from a food truck I had never heard of, and it was literally one of the best hummus sandwiches I've ever had. So, you never know what magical item you'll find at a food truck. If you're looking for some amazing food trucks in the Northeast, here you go.

America's Best Food Trucks

The Food Network has scoured the country in search of the best food trucks. They picked 26 to highlight in a new article, and a few of them are in the regional area. "While certain cities have emerged as major food truck hubs (think Austin, Portland and LA), they're hardly the only spots where you can score incredible meals on wheels," the Food Network notes in the article. "Join us on a road trip of America's best on-the-go eats." The Food Network, of course, are experts at all things food, so you can trust what they say about food trucks. It's fascinating to look through their tally of food trucks and see all the different kinds of food offered. I love that food trucks have very specialized food.

So, which New Jersey food truck made the cut? Mannino's Cannoli Express in Hammonton. What says New Jersey more than cannoli, right? The Food Network notes that event though "ice cream trucks are a dime a dozen," if you're looking for a treat in New Jersey, "what could be better than on-the-go cannoli?" They add that, "Drawing on years of experience working at her father's restaurants (where she was often tasked with making pastries) as well a culinary degree, which inspired her to experiment with techniques and flavors, Gabriella Mannino Tomasello has really made the sweet Sicilian treat her own." It's so great to see a family-owner business thriving. Also, on top of the regular vanilla ricotta cannoli, "there are inventive seasonal specials such as fresh blueberry and peach, maple bourbon bacon, pumpkin and caramel apple, and limoncello and fig," they note. Also, in New York City, they rave about The Halal Guys, which has expanded and is now available in states other than New York.
