Eagles Request Interview With Kellen Moore For OC
Following yesterday’s Press Conference, the Eagles are officially on the hunt for their next Offensive Coordinator. They have already interviewed former Cardinals Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury. But now we know of at least one more candidate they are talking to. The Eagles requested an interview with Chargers Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore.
Moore previously called plays for the Cowboys. In 4 years there, his offenses ranked first in yards twice. They also ranked top 10 in points 3 times. In his first season, they ranked 6th. The following year, with Dak out for most of the season, they ranked 17th. But they bounced back in 2021 and led the entire NFL in points scored. The following year they finished 4th despite Dak missing 5 games. But after yet another disappointment in the playoffs, the Cowboys moved on from him.
He took the Chargers job, and things were a bit of a mess. Their offense ranked 21st, their head coach was fired mid-season, and many of their offensive players got injured. The Chargers had barred a few teams from interviewing him early on. But now that they have hired Jim Harbaugh, they are allowing teams to interview Kellen Moore.
Moore has proven he can be a successful playcaller in this league. As much as we hate the Cowboys, their offenses under him were among the best in the league. And while they always choked come playoff time, that is a time-honored Cowboys tradition to you can not pin on him. Moore becomes one of the most coveted Offensive Coordinators on the market. And with Nick Sirianni and Howie Roseman revealing yesterday that the new OC will bring in a new scheme to try and shake things up for the Eagles, an experienced play-caller than him seems like the perfect fit.
