Breaking Down Philadelphia Eagles Opponents in 2024
An easier schedule helped the Philadelphia Eagles secure the top seed in the NFC in 2022 and a earn Super Bowl berth, but their opponents stepped up in 2023. At the point they were 10-1, the Eagles had already secured victories over the Cowboys, Dolphins, Chiefs, and Bills. From that point on, the losses to the 49ers and the Cowboys created a tailspin that they couldn’t pull out of. Will the 2024 slate be better or worse?
Washington Commanders (Home & Home)
A new head coach and most likely a new franchise quarterback taken with the 2nd-overall pick could set the Commanders up for a struggle bus.
New York Giants (Home & Home)
The Giants may or may not be better in 2024, but they could absolutely be more of a threat after the way they played the Eagles in two games late in the season.
Dallas Cowboys (Home & Home)
The Cowboys get to play the first place schedule this time around. They will face the Buccaneers, Lions, and 49ers. Plus, noone has repeated as division champs in a long time.
HOME SLATE
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons will have a new coach and a new starting quarterback. That is a team in transition.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers were the worst team in the NFL in 2023. They will also have a new head coach.
Cleveland Browns
The Browns were a feel-good story this season, but it still didn’t produce a playoff win, and Deshaun Watson continues to be a source of debate on and off the field.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have a quarterback controversy, and they didn’t win a playoff game. Pencil them in as a dangerous team, but they’re rarely more than a 9-8 type of team.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers are one of the up-and-coming young teams. I’m expecting a prime time matchup is in order.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jags collapse was almost as bad as the Birds. Doug Pederson returns again, but this time he will be on the hot seat to deliver in year three.
AWAY SLATE
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It’s a great road trip option, BUT the last visit was a nightmare. I’m not a Bucs believer, but this is a toss-up now.
New Orleans Saints
One of my favorite NFL road trips! You take a cab from the airport and then walk everywhere. It’s a great spot to eat and drink, but the Saints are always a rough road visit.
Baltimore Ravens
They earned the top seed in the AFC playoffs. Will they be Champs or suffer from the same runner-up flu that has taken out the Eagles?
Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow is must-see TV. I’m expecting this to be a prime-time matchup and a difficult task.
Los Angeles Rams
The Eagles fans always take over in LA, but the Rams were better than the Birds after Halloween in 2023.
