Pennsylvania Town Ranked the No. 1 Place to Live in America
It goes without saying that Pennsylvania is a pretty cool place to live. We have lots of history here, beautiful views and, of course, great sports teams. As it turns out, one Pennsylvania city has been named the No. 1 best place to live in America. That’s a huge honor.
Niche.com has released a list of the “2023 Best Places to Live in America.” This is an overall tally, as opposed to some of the outlet’s more specific lists, so this is a general take on the No. 1 best place to live in America. The tally ranked 228 cities and 17,932 towns and neighborhoods. To put together the list, Niche utilized federal data from the Census Bureau, FBI, Labor Bureau and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, plus reviews from local residents. Some of the factors considered included affordability, the local housing market, neighborhood diversity, the quality of public schools, crime, and walkability. The Best Places to Live rankings are a way to help residents “find a place to live based on the qualities that matter most to them,” Niche stated in a release.
According to the study, the No. 1 best place to lives in America is Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. Of the spot, Niche.com says, “Living in Chesterbrook offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Chesterbrook there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many families and retirees live in Chesterbrook and residents tend to have moderate political views. The public schools in Chesterbrook are highly rated.” But the love for the Keystone State doesn’t stop there. No. 2 on the list is Colonial Village, a neighborhood in Arlington, Virginia, followed by Ardmore, Pennsylvania; Hyde Park – Spanishtown Creek, Florida; and Penn Wynne, Pennsylvania. As you can see, we have lots of top cities on the list. In fact, one more Pennsylvania area comes in high on the list, with Devon at No. 9.
