The Audio Vault- The Wild Thing Walks It off vs the Padres
There is a lot going on in Philly sports right now. The Phillies begin the NLCS in San Diego vs the Padres today. The Sixers tip off their season in Boston vs the Celtics. The Flyers season is underway. And the Eagles are 6-0. So it only makes sense that there would be alot going on in the Vault too. The Wild Thing Walks It Off For the Phillies vs The Padres
The Phillies play the Padres in the NLCS. And they are two teams that do not have much of a history. But there is one iconic moment between the two teams. In 1993 the two teams were slated to play a doubleheader in Philly. But Mother Nature had other plans. Multiple rain delays meant the first game didn’t end until after midnight. But they still played the second game. In it, the Phillies dug themselves a 5-0 hole, but they clawed back to send it to extra innings.
And in the bottom of the 10th, closer Mitch Williams had to come up to bat with the Phillies bench empty after the long day. And at 4am, The Wild Thing ended the game. His single brought Pete Incaviglia home, to walk off the game. And Andrew pulled the audio form that moment out of the Vault.
Flyers Force Game 7 vs The Lightning in 2004
The Flyers play the Lightning tonight. And the most recent great moment between those e two teams was when they met in the 2004 Playoffs. The Flyers were down 3-1 in the series, and down in game 6. But then the Flyers came back. Keith Primeau tied it to send it to OT, and then Simon Gagne netted the game-winning goal the force a game 7. The Flyers could not keep that magic going and lost game 7. But game 6 was still an unforgettable moment in what had been a promising playoff run for the Flyers. Andrew grabbed the
Sixers-Celtics Rivalry
The Celtics are by far the Sixers’ most hated rival. Even if that rivalry has been a bit one-sided in NBA history. And with the Sixers and the Celtics opening the NBA season tonight, Andrew pulled some great moments from that Rivalry to play in The Vault today.
