Living Like A Lynch
Every Friday during the summer months, I preview some of the events going on around town this weekend. Summers winding down and schools firing back up for a lot, so time to get some weekend fun in before the kids return back to classrooms.
One of the biggest events around locally this weekend and started Thursday is the BMW Championship on the PGA Tour, being hosted by Wilmington Country Club. All the big names on the tour in our backyards. Adam Scott, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy will be out competing. I myself secured some baby-sitting coverage and will be heading down on Sunday. Really looking forward to it as I went to the one at Aronimik a few years back, the BMW Championship seems to really like the area!
This Saturday, me and the family are headed to Warwick Farms Brewery in Jamison for their “MusicFest 2022” (https://warwickfarmbrewing.com/music-fest-2022/). Live music, great beers, food trucks one a beautiful plot of farm land. No brainer.
Penn’s Landing has two events happening this weekend and it kicks off with the “Festival of India” festival Saturday. I love Indian food, so would really enjoy myself if I was able to go. Then on Sunday, Penn’s Landing is hosting the Caribbean Festival. Sure to be some great food there as well.
It’s the final weekend of the Oval XP located near the art museum on the Benjamin Franklin parkway if you wanted to catch that before it closes for the summer. Ferris wheel and rides, food trucks, mini golf, interactive stations for kids, builder kits and more.
Concerts in town this weekend: The Mann Center has Brandi Carlile on Saturday night and the Goo Goo Dolls on Sunday. Parx Casino is hosting Blondie.
Chance of rain on Sunday but should be a pretty nice weekend out there, enjoy yourselves!
