The title says it all. A day after Nikola Jokic stole an MVP award from Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons joins him in the "deserved it but got screwed by the basketball writers association" group. Because in a laughable display of "Ahhh....well just give it to a center again" the writers decided that the Jazz' Rudy Gobert is once again the defensive player of the year.
"Wait! I recognize that name!"
YES! You Do! Because its the same Rudy Gobert that was cooked for 42 point by Ben Simmons earlier this season. The same Ben Simmons that isn't known for a scoring went into Utah and embarrassed the "DPOY."
Look, if you want to argue Embiid and Jokic then fine. At least there's a case because Jokic played 20 more games than Embiid. I dont think it's a very good case but to each their own. But this?! This is laughable. I'm not even going to bore you with the stats. You've watched Ben Simmons all year.
The NBA voters are currently in a heated race for "whos doing a worst job this post season" with the NBA refs and with this latest snafu the writers currently have the lead.
