Phillies Red October Memories: John Kincade Intro Begins Game 3 Slugfest
After the Philadelphia Phillies broke a long playoff drought with a wild card berth in the MLB Playoffs in 2022, the city suddenly remembered the euphoria of Red October at Citizens Bank Park.
The Golden Era of Phillies baseball took a sharp turn after a disappointing playoff exit in 2011, but the expectation of an annual playoff appearance is back.
The rally towels at Citizens Bank Park in Red October create some of the best memories in the history of Philadelphia sports.

World Series Returns to Philadelphia
The tension of Game 1 was thick enough to cut with a knife. The Phillies accomplished a favorable outcome by splitting the first two games of the World Series at Minute Maid Park. However, they left meat on the bone in a disappointing Game 2 loss with Zack Wheeler on the mound.
The series traveled to Citizens Bank Park, where the Phillies had won run the table with five victories in their only home playoff games since 2011. Red October was back, and the Fox MLB broadcast chose an interesting voice to tell the world about it.
Fox Welcomes You To The World Series With… John Kincade
The staff at 97.5 The Fanatic had just experienced a whirlwind through the best month in Philadelphia sports history, and they somehow found enough energy to stay awake through one of the most memorable days in station history.
A remote midday broadcast in Horsham got everybody in the mood early for a station watch party at the same location that night. The crowd brought a remarkable sense of bliss that characterizes the unity of the Philadelphia area when a local team has championship aspirations.
Then the world got to see 97.5 The Fanatic as the sounding board for a fan base in absolute euphoria.
“Game 3 of the World Series is happening in your town tonight. We have a 7-0 football team residing in town. This is the best place in the world to be a sports fan right now… This crowd can help to turn a game. It’s a football crowd at a baseball game.” -John Kincade
Phillies Crush Astros in Memorable Slugfest
Lance McCullers took the mound in what would become a total laugher. Bryce Harper blasted the first home run that sent Citizens Bank Park wild.
The Phillies continued the slugfest with home runs from Alec Bohm, Brandon Marsh, Kyle Schwarber, and Rhys Hoskins.
Dusty Baker finally mercifully hooked McCullers in the fifth inning after seven earned runs on five longballs. Ranger Suarez handled the Astros with the coolest demeanor Philadelphia had seen since Cliff Lee’s lazy pop-up catch against the New York Yankees in 2009.
A game with an outcome never in doubt allowed the drinks to flow at the Fanatic watch party in Horsham and through the late innings of a memorable blowout at Citizens Bank Park. The beers flowed at the sports complex in South Philadelphia and the 97.5 The Fanatic watch party in Horsham.
Red October might’ve ended the previous day, but the Phillies still needed to bring the World Series parade to Broad Street.
The 97.5 The Fanatic Explorer rolled back to City Avenue blasting “Dancing On My Own” with the ultimate goal as close as it would get.
