The Phillies Stars Will Deliver Them Out Of This Slump
Things are not looking good for the Phillies right now to many fans. The 14-4 loss to the Yankees was crushing to some and has many of them preparing for an October collapse. Despite the additions at the trade deadline, there are fans concerned about the lineup, starting pitching, and the bullpen.
Ranger Suarez is on the IL with a low back injury, Bryson Stott has been poor at the plate all season, and they have not settled on what to do in the outfield outside of Castellanos. These issues are all temporary outside of Stott, who has been great with the glove.
There are hot streaks and slumps. Right now, a ton of teams aren’t playing well, it is part of the deal. Out of the 6 division leaders currently, only 2 of them have been better than .500 their last 10 games.
Despite their struggles the Phillies still have the biggest division lead in the sport. As bad as things look right now, the Phillies are still in very solid shape to win the division and get one of the 2 byes. Reliever Carlos Estevez and outfielder Austin Hays will help them both now and in October. Slumps happen and the Phillies have too many players slumping at the same time. That won’t last much longer.
The Phillies Stars Need To Deliver
Bryce Harper said that the “superstars got to show up” and that is why I know that this team will be just fine. They have too many good players for this to last much longer. Harper is 1 for his last 20. Turner is 1 for his last 17.
This will not last. I understand that it is frustrating right now, but they are too good for this to continue. Yes, they didn’t hit for a couple games in 2022 vs the Astros. It was just a couple games. I can’t deny that NLCS game 6 and 7 happened. They were just two games though. If they Phillies get a 3-2 lead in the NLCS again, they will make the World Series.
It is just a matter of time before Schwarber, Turner, Harper, Bohm, Realmuto, Castellanos all break out of this and when it does it will be glorious. This will all be forgotten soon. I understand the current frustration, but the Phillies will be fine, and they will still win the World Series in early November.
