Nick Nurse On The Versatility Paul George Brings To The Sixers
The Sixers have had a busy off-season, but by far the biggest move has been Paul George. What does he bring to the Sixers though? What does he do for them on offense? Who better to weigh in on that than Nick Nurse?

The Sixers head coach sat down with 76ers Insiders Matt Murphy and Lauren Rosen from the Sixers Summer League and talked about what he thinks Paul George can do for his team.
Nick Nurse Loves The Versatility Of Paul George
“He’s a big wing. Plays both ways. Can handle the pass. Can obviously score. He can post up a little bit. I mean, I could go on and on. Right. He’s one of those players that you, you use offensively in every possible way somebody can be used offensively.
You know he handles the screen and roll and will set in a screen and roll. He will bring the ball up. He’ll catch and shoot. He’ll he’ll beat you one on one. You know all those things. So obviously a really good fit. Tyrese and Joel are kind of the bookends of one and five and Paul fitting right in the middle here.”
Paul George, even at 34, still averaged 22.6 points per game last season. In fact he has done that for 9 straight seasons, and for 10 of his last 11 seasons.
What he gives them, is another dynamic scorer. I dont think they have ever had 3 dynamic socrers at the same time. You can maybe count Embiid, Harden, and Maxey. But Maxey was not the Maxey we saw last year when Harden was here. He was still a growing player, and a bit inconsistent.
Now they have 3 players who will not only give you 20 a night, but are capable of 30 on any given night. The entire offense won’t fall part if Embiid or Maxey has an off night, the way it did last year.
Tobias Harris averaged a little under 20 per game while here. But he was not a socrer the way George is. He was never taking over games, or dominating the other team. George can do that, even later in his career.
Nick Nurse didnt even talk about what he does on defense. George is also a 4-time All-Defense player. With Maxey now playing like a star, and Embiid already being an MVP, the Sixers have a true big 3, and some decent pieces around those 3 too.
Obvioulsy they need to do it on the court, and need to stay healthy, but there is good reason to be excited about the new look Sixers.
