Lionel Messi was not yet with Inter Miami CF when they came to Philadelphia back on June 24th. So it seemed like Union fans were going to miss out on getting to see Messi play. But the Leagues Cup will now give us that chance. After The Union beat Queretaro 2-1, and Miami beat Charlotte 4-0, the two teams are set to meet up in the Leagues Cup Semi-Finals. And because the Union have the better regular season record, that game will be played at Subaru Park.

For over a decade now, Lionel Messi has been among the most exciting soccer players in the world. Recently he carried his home country of Argentina to their first World Cup victory since 1986. And after spending 17 seasons with Barcelona, and then 2 with Paris Saint-Germain, he decided to take his talents to South Beach. He immediately made his presence felt in his first game scoring the game-winning Free Kick. And since then he has led the League Cup in goals scored.

So it will be a tough test for the Union if they want to make it to the Leagues Cup Finals. But like every other game so far in the Leagues Cup for them, they at least get to play it at home. And the Union usually do not lose at home. They have just 1 loss this season in Chester and had none last year.

The matchup is set for Tuesday Night, at a time to be determined. If you are interested in going to see the Union take on Lionel Messi and the rest of Miami FC in person, you should know tickets are not going cheap. The cheapest tickets for the Charlotte vs Miami game were going for $132 per person. And it will likely cost even more than that to see him at Subaru Park.

Speaking of sporting legends, Nick Foles is coming to Fan Fest:

Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles Is Coming To 97.5 The Fanatic’s Fan Fest

You will not want to miss Fan Fest this year. None other than Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles will be making an appearance. Yes the man who helped Philadelphia have its first-ever Super Bowl parade, will be partying with us on August 26th at Fan Fest.

Nick Foles played in the NFL for 11 years, including 5 with the Eagles. He was drafted by Andy Reid back in 2012. He got his first chance to be the full-time starter the next season with Chip Kelly and had a historic season with 27 TDs and just two interceptions. But not long after that, Chip Kelly traded him. He returned a few years later under Doug Pederson. And we should be grateful he did. Because when Carson Wentz went down, Nick Foles filled in. And as a backup, he led the Eagles through the playoffs and helped us take down Tom Brady and the Patriots to give the city of Philly a trophy.

Fan Fest is the Fanatic's Annual End of Summer Party. It's your chance to meet Fanatic Hosts, Philadelphia Athletes, and more. Nick Foles joins a guest list that already includes former Sixer Lou Williams and former Flyer Scott Hartnell. In addition to the guests, there will be Soccer Darts, a wiffle ball arena, a mechanical shark, dunk tanks, exotic sports cars, escape rooms, rock walls, meet and greets, live music, and so much more. The event is hosted at Xfinity Live, with doors opening up at 11, and staying open until 5. You must be 21 or older to attend.

This is your chance to get to see the man who finally got us the Lombardi Trophy. The guy who pulled off the Philly Special. If you don't have tickets yet, don't worry. Continue to listen to all of our shows for your chances to win tickets. You can look here for upcoming online and in-person Ticket Raids.

In case you need a reminder of how important Nick Foles is to Philadelphia Sports history, check out some of his best moments below:

The Philly Special

For the rest of Nick Foles life, he will always be the QB who caught a TD in the Super Bowl. No Eagles fan will ever forget the Philly Special. It was 4th and goal, and the Eagles led 15-12. They could have kicked the Field Goal, and gone up 18-12. But when Doug Pederson called the timeout, Nick Foles asked him the now legendary question? Do you want Philly Philly? The rest is history. It is still one of the greatest plays in Super Bowl history.

Nick Foles Throws for 7 TDs Vs the Raiders

What do Nick Foles, Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning have in common? Well other than all 3 of them having a Super Bowl MVP Award in their trophy case, they also share a record for most TDs thrown in a single game, along with 5 other guys. In week 9 of the 2013 season, Nick Foles put on a show vs the Raiders. he racked up 7 passing TDs. Something no one has surpassed, and only Drew Brees has replicated since Foles did it that season.

Lifting the Lombardi Trophy

And of course, no moment can top when Nick Foles lifted the trophy itself. The greatest moment in so many Eagles fans' lives, outside of weddings and children being born. Something some fans waited 52 years for, and everyone else waited their whole life for. It wasn't just him. Brandon Graham, Zach Ertz, Corey Clement, Doug Pederson, Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, and the rest of the guys on that roster also deserve all the love in the world for what they accomplished. But Nick Foles is often going to be the first guy anyone thinks of when they picture that Super Bowl.
