Sources: Phillies-Nationals game postponed amid protests of racial injustice
Tonight’s Phillies-Nationals series finale has been postponed, sources tell NBC Sports Philadelphia. Phillies players met to make the decision Thursday.
Several games in the NBA and MLB were not played on Wednesday night as players joined together in the wake of racial tensions in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Phillies manager Joe Girardi said after Wednesday night’s game that he would support any course of action his players chose to express their feelings on any social matter.
The Phillies are scheduled to return home Friday night to play Atlanta. Friday is Jackie Robinson Day in MLB.
