Disco Biscuits concert from an empty Citizens Bank Park provided fantastic visuals
“Pink Floyd did it at Pompeii, you know, why can’t The Disco Biscuits do it at the Phillies baseball park,” keyboardist Aron Magner said in the intro to the concert last night, referring to the famous rock documentary from the 70’s.
And on Tuesday night, they did just that: performed “The Disco Biscuits Take You Out to the Ball Game” in front of tens of thousands of empty seats in South Philadelphia. The whole concert was live streamed on their YouTube page.
In a classic Citizens Bank Park touch, all four band members ran out of the dugout while being introduced by longtime Phillies PA announcer Dan Baker. All of them were wearing custom Phillies jerseys with their names on the back.
The band that first formed at the University of Penn in West Philly back in the late 90’s fittingly opened with “Home Again” and continued on with a jam-filled 90+ minute show.
The production was impressive, with camera angles coming from all around the park, including lovely aerial views with the Philly skyline in the back.
You can watch the entire show on The Disco Biscuits YouTube page here and enjoy some pretty cool photos of the performance below. The beneficiary of the fundraiser show was PLUS1 for Black Lives Matter. More info on that cause at their website here.
