The Best Show Ever?: Weekdays 2pm – 6pm

See what was brewing with Jen Scordo today. Every day on The Best Show Ever Jen Scordo shares 3 recent weird and interesting news stories. Today that included a first-generation iPhone selling for a lot of money, fish literally rained down in one Australian town, and a pizzeria that is catching heat for their odd job posting… Here are her stories from today.

  • A woman recently auctioned off an unopened 2007 iPhone for a new record... $63,000.

Karen Green received the 2007 iPhone as a gift – it cost $599 back then, but she was too attached to the phone she already owned (I totally get that, I LOVED my Blackberry).  So she just put the iPhone away in its original packaging, never even opening it.  16 years later, she came across the package and figured she would get some decent amount of money for it, say $5,000… However after many people competed in the bidding, the price landed at $63,356.40.

  • Its Raining... Fish?

A town in the Australian Outback experienced some rain recently.  But it was not water that fell from the sky, no, it was fish.  The heavy storm moved through last weekend and while it did actually rain – like the normal kind of rain – along with the drops of water were fish the size of two fingers.  Evidently raining fish have been reported in this community on a regular basis as far back as 1974.  The phenomenon is “attributed the fishy sprinkles to floods in local waterholes, though he also cited the possibility of sea life being picked up by strong storms, like tornadoes, and “dropped in other places.”

    Bizarre.

  • Pizzeria Takes Heat For Sign Saying They are Hiring "Non-Stupid People"

A pizzeria in Columbus, Ohio is catching some heat for a recent job posting.  They put a sign in their front window saying, “Now hiring non-stupid people.”

The owner of the restaurant says that it was meant to be funny, but the place has been harassed on social media for the listing, even receiving fake orders.  AN order for 10 pizzas came in, they made the order, and the person called in and talked down to one of the employees and complained about how terrible their pizza is and canceled the order.  The restaurant donated the food, not wanting to waste it.  The owner spoke to the media about the sign and simply countered with, “Instead of judging our signs, why don’t you come judge our pizzas?” He’s evidently been burned by unreliable workers so he figured this would help.
