Its been a bit since Ive put my picks on the Fanatic site BUT WERE BACK! Life has been busy so the last PPV I just took to twitter to release my picks. But were back to business as usual for UFC 282. A fight that was supposed to be headlined by Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira rematch. When that fell through we have a fight headlined by Jan Blachowicz against Magomed Ankalaev for a fake belt.

While the Main event isnt a good one, the card is. Here are some specifics. The  prelims at 10:oo pm and the main card at 2pm . All of it is on ESPN+ and it will cost you $70 but its worth it.

I will give you my predictions in the order the fights are to take place. All odds are courtesy of Bet MGM. The King of Sports Books! For new users head on over there and use the promocode PatEgan and get your first bet RISK FREE up to $1K

185-132-1 this year. 62-32 on locks.

In 2021 I hit on 60% of picks. In 2021 I hit on 61% of “locks” (so a lot of people had keys to that lock.)

(9-5 last fight card. 3-1 on locks)

  • Bryce Mitchell vs Ilia Topuria

I love both of these guys so this matchup should be a fun one. Mitchell’s entire game plan is to get you on the ground and maul you. Wear you down, and make you tap out. Mitchell passed a big test by doing this to title challenger Edson Barboza. That was something I didnt see coming but after 15 minutes Barboza looked gassed. But Topuria is a different beast. Undefeated and a threat on the ground and on the feet. I think his ground game is good enough to keep Mitchell at bay and I think his stand up is better than Thug Nasty. So Ill go with Topuria and then he gets to take out Paddy Pimblett.

  • Darren Till vs. Dricus Du Plessis

What a banger. If you have never watched Du Plessis then get ready for the broadcast to constantly bring up how gasses he is. Because truthfully, he looks it. Then you realize he isnt slowing down and its just his style. Hes a HEAVY hitter and a volume striker but his precision isnt QUITE there. This is also a big step up in competition. Going from Brad Tavares to Darren Till is a jump! Luckily for Till Du Plessis is a fighter who is willing to stand and trade and isnt looking to take Till to the ground. Even after training with Khamzat, this will be a slug fest. I think Till takes it because of his striking accuracy but I wouldnt be shocked if he surprised everyone by shooting on Du Plessis and trying to take him to the ground. All that training with Khamzat has to eventually show up right?

  • Alex Morono vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio

Ponzinibbio was one of my favorite fighters at 170. He was initially expected to fight Robbie Lawler but Lawler fell out and Alex Morono stepped in. The fight will be at a catch weight and in my opinon it goes from a “get right” fight for Ponzinibbio, to a really tough matchup. Morono is an unassuming fighter. You see him and he doesnt really pass the eye test. Dont get fooled. Hes a really though out and a guy that routinely goes the distance in his fights. Fighting out of Fortis MMA has really helped. I think Morono gets it done on short notice.

  • Paddy Pimblett vs. Jarred Gordon

Paddy Pimblett is the light weight version of Sean O’Malley. A UFC Golden Goose who they are going to bring along with easy fights….I mean “slowly”. After Pimblett went on a podcast and ripped Ariel Helwani while defending Dana White’s fighter pay, he might not get a tough fight until 2024. Now Jarred Gordon isnt a push over, and he is the toughest fight Pimblett has had in the UFC, but I would be blown away if Pimblett doesnt pick up another win. Even with Gordon training with Serra-Longo and having great grapplers at the gym, I would expect Pimblett to get the W

  • Jan Blachowicz vs. Magomed Ankalaev

Gross main event. I think Jan pieces him up on the feet and knocks Ankalaev out. Im just not sold on his ability even though he looks the part. Call me crazy
