TV I’m Catching Up On During The Slow Week In Sports

It’s here, the official slowest week of the calendar year on the sports calendar. Working in sports media, I usually use this week to try and catch up on some television with my wife. Granted with two young children under the age of three, we’re a bit back logged on our shows but wanted to share with you what we’re watching this week!

• The Rehearsal on HBO

  new show from the bizarre mind of Nathan Fielder. If you love awkward comedy, this show is for you. It’s bizarrely genius and incredibly dumb at the same time. His show before this was Nathan For You on Comedy Central which I think is one of the funniest shows of the last decade. His style is certainly not for everyone. 

• Better Call Saul

  Bob Odenkirk’s spin off from Breaking Bad is just brilliant. An all around great series I can’t wait to see wrap up. If you’re a Breaking Bad fan, you’ve got to get on this show.

• Barry

  One of my wife’s favorite shows. If you like dark comedies, this is right up your alley. Bill Hader writes, produces and directs one of HBO’s best shows. An ex military hitman catches the acting bug and moves to LA but can’t quit his past life. Enough said. NoHo Hank is one of the best characters on TV.

• The Flight Attendant

  Season two we were late on but we binged a couple episodes of the newest season from actress Haley Cuoco. I’d describe the murder mystery show as just flat out entertaining. Not the best, keeps your attention and just entertaining. Would recommend it.

• The Boys

  my COVID binge show that my wife would have zero interest in. It’s great. It’s a superhero anti-superhero show. Still catching up but some great characters on display in this show.

• The Bear

  new on FX. Have not gotten to it yet but on our short list, have been hearing great things about it & the new show was recently picked up by Hulu for a season 2.

• Only Murders In The Building

  another Hulu show we’ve heard a lot about. Steve Martin stars in the Hulu show. Also on our short list to get to in the coming weeks!
