On Tuesday the Phillies made a flurry of moves at the MLB trade deadline that will hopefully end a playoff draught of 11 years. The team brought in Brandon Marsh, David Robertson, and the final move of the day was starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard. Syndergaard has had a bounce back season with the Angels where he has posted a 3.83 ERA on a 1 year deal.

But Syndergaard has some stank on him. Mets stank. Syndergaard was the big piece in the deal that sent RA Dickey from the Mets to the Blue Jays and shortly after Syndergaard came up to Queens and started dominating. His look garnered him the nickname Thor, but it was his electric fastball and strike out numbers that truly fit that moniker. But after his first 4 seasons injuries started to hinder his performance and it led to the Mets letting him walk. But most people associate him as a Met, and the guy who tried (and failed) to intentionally hit “second base Jesus” Chase Utley.

The Phillies Trade Deadline Acquisitions, By The Numbers

None of this is lost on Syndergaard who quickly hopped on twitter and started doing what most new athletes SHOULD do…..pander. Were a simple fan base. Pander and we will love you. Bryce Harper picked that up REALLY quickly, and it appears that Syndergaard is following his lead.
