We kick in the new year with some positive vibes! We all fall into the trap of being a “negadelphian.” So lets focus on the 22 things to look forward to in 2022 if youre a Philadelphia sports fan.

  • 22) Philly Fighters Flourishing in the UFC

Kaitlin Chookagian starts off 2022 with a fight against Jennifer Maia on January 15th. Chris Daukas ended 2021 headlining the final UFC card (unfortunately it was a loss.) His brother Kyle is set to kick off 2022 against Julian Marquez. But there is also Sean Brady who is undefeated, and Andre Petroski & Pat Sabatini have yet to suffer a loss in the promotion. More are also on the way.

  • 21) Ranger Suarez

Ranger Suarez was spectacular in his first full season as a starter. Cant wait to see what the lefty can do in 2022

  • 20) Eagles Offensive Line

The Eagles offensive line is an amazing mix of veterans and youth. They have a stud left tackle, a stud left guard. Lane Johnson shouldve been a Pro-Bowler this season. And they have depth!

  • 19) Stan Drayton Era

Temple football will look to get back to being competitive under new head coach Stan Drayton. A man who has the stamp of approval from our own Brian Westbrook

  • 18) Bryson Stott

Stott is the Phillies #1 prospect. He had a very good showing in the Arizona Fall League, and if Didi Gregorius continues to struggle we could see him soon

  • 17) Villanova Basketball

Another national championship? Its very plausible for Jay Wright’s Villanova Wildcats who are currently #4 in the country

  • 16) MLB Labor Agreement

Everything Phillies that I have written about before, and will write about, cant happen without a labor agreement.

  • 15) Cam York

The Flyers need help defensively. Currently York is getting some seasoning in Lehigh Valley. But when he comes up, expect him to stay.

  • 14) Philadelphia Union's 2022 Season

The Union were forced to play an Eastern Conference Championship game with a makeshift team because of COVID protocols. I cant wait to see a Jim Curtin team with a chip on their shoulder.

  • 13) Carter Hart

If there is one thing that has been pretty consistent this Flyers season, its been the goaltender. Carter Hart has rebounded this season and has a .918 save%. 2022 looks bright for the 23 year old.

  • 12) NHL Trade Deadline

But while Carter Hart is exciting, the Flyers have not been. The NHL Trade deadline could be interesting with guys like Claude Giroux on the last year of their contract. Could the Flyers finally sell?

  • 11) Phillies Spending

Once the lockout ends, the Phillies will spend. Lets see who they get.

  • 10) The Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid Connection

Their connection on the court has been fun. They also seem to have fun off of it. And they both are still getting better.

  • 9) Zach Wheeler's Follow Up

Every 5th day the Phillies got an ace performance from Wheeler. Wheeler finished second in the Cy Young voting. He probably should have won it. The Phillies need him big time in 2022

  • 8) DeVonta Smith

He’s one of 6 rookies to lead his team in receiving. After 16 games he has 875 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. Year 2 is going to be FUNNN

  • 7) NBA Trade Deadline

Could we finally see Ben Simmons get traded? Could the Sixers be buyers. The deadline could be awesome or it could absolutely be a let down. Kind of like acquiring George Hill….

  • 6) Flyers hiring a coach

Right now Mike Yeo is the interim head coach. Could Yeo do enough to keep the job? Or will Chuck Fletcher go big game hunting?

  • 5) Bryce Harper's Follow Up

Lets see what Bryce Harper can do after winning the MVP award

  • 4) Eagles Cap Space

Howie Roseman has cleared the books. Hes got cap space and we know the Eagles will spend it.

  • 3) NFL QB Market

Could the Eagles keep Jalen Hurts? Or go and get a more proven vet? The Eagles have been tied to Both Russell Wilson and DeShaun Watson.

  • 2) NFL Draft

The Eagles have three first round picks. THREE

  • 1) Eagles Playoffs

I NEVER expected to write this. But the Eagles are headed to the playoffs
