Be a lifeline in the fight against HIV for the virtual 34th Annual AIDS Walk Philly. Join AIDS Fund on the morning of Sunday, October 18, for a video kick-off and then walk 5K in your own neighborhood. With safe housing more important than ever, what if you had HIV and needed to pay your electric bill or a security deposit?
You can be a lifeline for the most vulnerable people living with HIV by donating or participating in AIDS Walk Philly. Please help raise emergency funds for Philadelphians living with HIV.
Your support helps AIDS Fund make small grants (averaging just $440) for the most vulnerable of those living with HIV: those who find their health threatened because of impending evictions or the loss of health insurance or utilities. We know that you can’t maintain your health when you don’t have a roof over your head, a bed to sleep in, or access to regular health care. We also now know that the medicines that help people with HIV live long and healthy lives also keep them from passing the virus on to others.
This year, Walkers will raise awareness by participating at home. While staying safely socially distanced, walkers will unite on Sunday, October 18 by going the 5k distance in their neighborhoods. At 8 AM on October 18 there will be an on-line broadcast with messages from AIDS Fund, our partner organizations, special guests, and information about the current state of HIV prevention, care, and treatment in our community.
Following the broadcast, we will be raising awareness about HIV throughout the region with people walking in their neighborhoods while proudly wearing their AIDS Walk Philly 2020 t-shirts. Donate or register to walk or volunteer today at AIDSwalkphilly.org or call 215-731-WALK. To register as a walker, volunteer, or virtual walker, please click here.
