The 5th annual “Miracle for Molly” event at The Merion in Cinnaminson, NJ is on Thursday, April 30th, 2020 from 6:30PM-11PM.
The event is in honor of 7-year old, Molly Foley, who was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in March 2015. Last year’s event had 250 guests and raised over $115,000 and to date the cause has raised nearly $400,000. This year Miracle for Molly is expecting even more guests and all proceeds raised will again be donated to Rett Syndrome Research Trust (RSRT).
Rett Syndrome is a severe neurological disorder that primarily affects girls and women. Its terrible symptoms usually strike by 18 months of age, leaving little girls disabled for their entire lives, or until research leads to treatments and a cure. Most children with Rett are unable to talk, walk or use their hands, and many suffer from seizures, scoliosis, and a host of other symptoms. Rett afflicts more than 350,000 girls and women around the world.
Remarkably, the symptoms of Rett have been reversed in mouse models, offering proof that this is a curable condition. But a significant investment in research is needed to translate a reversal in mice to a reversal in girls and women with Rett Syndrome.
