The Philadelphia Union will continue developing its Boys Player Pathway Program (PPP) with new enhancements for the 2026–2027 season.
According to a Philadelphia Union news release, the Union is expanding its core program to include a Showcase Pathway for U15–U16 players. In addition, the core Player Pathway is expanding and will now serve ages U7–U14. Along with this broader age range, players can expect new offerings and enhanced benefits to help youth players elevate their development experience.
As noted in the Union's media release, the Showcase Pathway adds a Welcome Event & Media Day, 23 training sessions, four showcase tournaments, two supplemental trainings, video footage for all events, a summer camp, and an end-of-season event. College-preparation support includes highlight videos, one-on-one evaluations, film sessions, college-introduction emails, and college-prep advisory seminars.
Alternatively, the core Pathway package includes 20 training sessions, optional tournaments (Frozeover or Union Turf Cup, subject to staff choice), two EDP tournaments, Spiideo video for WSFS events, an end-of-season event, and a 2027 summer camp experience. Supplemental benefits include an in-house five-on-five tournament, a PPP-only futsal clinic, discounted small-group trainings through the PPP, and select PPP showcases and experiences (for example, EPL Tour and PPP-hosted events).

What Is the Player Pathway Program (PPP)?
The program centers on a pathway philosophy that develops players through the Union's methodology across technical, tactical, physical, and mental aspects. Participating in the PPP prepares young athletes for diverse futures, including club, academy, high school, college, or semi-pro opportunities.
Selection to the PPP is based on identification or recommendations from Union Youth programs or Open ID Events. Selected players join a flexible training pool that adapts to individual needs and allows movement between groups to maximize growth.
Registration for the PPP is available online.
