Ed Callahan, a 79-year-old U.S. Navy veteran from Philadelphia's Mayfair neighborhood and a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, has been named the Eagles Fan of the Year for 2025 and is now a candidate for NFL Fan of the Year.
Callahan is highly regarded in the Eagles community for his dedication and hospitality at tailgates, drawing praise from fellow fans, and even international visitors who travel from abroad to meet him.
Callahan actively promotes fundraising and fan engagement. He is encouraging people to vote for him in the NFL Fan of the Year competition through the NFL Honors voting page.
"It's an honor and a very humbling experience," Callahan told NBC10 Philadelphia.
According to NBC10, Callahan, who spent 28 years in the U.S. Navy and went to his first Eagles game in 1954, said he enjoys being a fan and raising money for the Eagles Autism Foundation through his tailgates.
Since 2019, Callahan has helped raise approximately $400,000 for the Eagles Autism Foundation, according to NFL.com. He's raised about $70,000 so far this year.
