Three Philadelphia Union players have been named to Major League Soccer's 22 Under 22 rankings for 2025.
Quinn Sullivan, Olwethu Makhanya, and Frankie Westfield made the list featuring the MLS's top young talent. The names on the list were announced on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
The Philadelphia Union team has the most players on the 22 Under 22 list of any MLS team this year, reflecting the Union's emphasis on strong youth player development and overall team performance.
Quinn Sullivan, 21, is ranked No. 6 on the list. The midfielder played a crucial role for the Union before tearing his ACL in September in a Union victory against D.C. United. He has also gained international experience with the U.S. men's national team.
Olwethu Makhanya, also 21, was ranked No. 13. He has become a regular starter and contributed significantly to the Union's top-ranked MLS defense with 26 starts for the Union this season.
Frankie Westfield, 19, ranked No. 18, has emerged as a breakout star. He has primarily played at right back and is currently gaining international experience with the U.S. U-20 team at the FIFA 2025 U-20 World Cup in Chile.
Missing from the list is Cavan Sullivan, a 16-year-old midfielder and Quinn's younger brother. The younger Sullivan has a future transfer deal with Manchester City and had only 10 appearances for the Union this season, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Philadelphia Union recently clinched the Supporters' Shield and will play their final regular-season match against Charlotte FC on Oct. 18. The match will be broadcast at 6 p.m. on Apple TV+.
