The inaugural Delco Chalk Fest will bring local and national chalk artists to Chester for a community-wide celebration of the arts. The event will be held at Subaru Park from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17.
Organized by Visit Delco, the free, two-day outdoor festival will include chalk creations, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun. Admission and parking are free.
According to the Daily Times, 15 local and nationally recognized chalk artists will transform Reaney Street outside Subaru Park, home of the Philadelphia Union, into a virtual art gallery of 2D and 3D masterpieces.
In addition to showcasing the works of chalk artists, the Delco Chalk Fest will feature several Delaware County Arts organizations at the event. These organizations will provide fun, informative activities for attendees.
Guests can also enjoy music from DJs, food from various local food trucks, adult beverages from Union Yards Open, face painting and balloon art for kids, and photo ops of completed art and works-in-progress.
“Visit Delco is proud to present this one-of-a-kind event, which brings art, community, and fun together in a way that everyone can enjoy,” said Rob MacPherson, executive vice president of Visit Delco, in a statement to the Daily Times. “We invite families, art lovers, and curious visitors to come experience the talent and energy that this event will bring to the Delaware County riverfront.”
