Chiefs head coach Andy Reid clinched the top spot with seven first-place votes in The Associated Press preseason NFL head coach poll for 2025. Eight AP Pro Football Writers ranked their top five coaches based on current success.

Reid was the most successful coach in Philadelphia Eagles history before joining the Kansas City Chiefs and turning them into a dynasty.

John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens claimed second, with Eagles coach Nick Sirianni trailing him by just one point. Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams secured fourth, while Sean McDermott of the Buffalo Bills rounded out the top five.

Reid's 301 wins put him fourth on the all-time list. His streak speaks for itself. The Chiefs have had a winning record in 12 straight seasons. They've reached the playoffs 11 times in those 12 years and won the AFC West nine consecutive years running.

In Baltimore, Harbaugh's magic is also in the numbers. His teams have posted winning records in 15 of 17 seasons, with an impressive win-loss record of 179-113. The poll gave him three second-place votes, four thirds, and a fifth.

Fresh off leading Philadelphia to a 40-22 Super Bowl win against Reid's squad, Sirianni snagged one first-place vote. His .701 win rate ranks fourth among current coaches, backed by 54 wins against 23 losses.

McVay's Rams snatched the NFC West crown and a playoff victory in 2024. In eight years at the helm, he's hit double-digit wins six times.

Under McDermott's watch, Buffalo has ruled the AFC East for five straight years. His .624 win rate sits fifth among coaches with four-plus seasons.

Jim Harbaugh, Sean Payton, Matt LaFleur, Kevin O'Connell, Kyle Shanahan, Mike Vrabel and Mike Tomlin also picked up votes in the rankings.
