Philadelphia 76ers legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Allen Iverson will soon add one more accolade to his credit: published author.
Iverson took to Instagram to announce the release of his memoir Understood, coming in Fall 2025.
"This book is a look back at my life beyond the game, the struggles, the triumphs, and everything in between that made me who I am today," he said. "It's raw, it's authentic, and it's me."
NBA fans flooded the post with comments. "I've waited my whole life for this," said one user.
"Had to hurry and preorder mines can't wait to get it and Congratulations ???? My Favorite Player of all times!! #3" said another passionate fan.
SI.com noted that Iverson's memoir is expected to include personal insight into Iverson's off-court experiences and offering context to some of the most high-profile events of his career.
"In his memoir, Iverson explores how he completely shattered the mold dictating what an NBA star could be in the 1990s and 2000s, all while dealing with legal troubles and personal traumas that only contributed to his sense of individualism and star power," according to Sports Illustrated.
Iverson was the first pick out of Georgetown in the 1996 NBA Draft. He reached stardom with the 76ers culminating in an NBA MVP season in 2000-01. He also spent time with the Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, and Memphis Grizzlies over his 14 NBA seasons.
He averaged 26.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 2.2 steals per game in 914 career games.
