Eric Allen Inducted Into The NFL Hall Of Fame, Class of 2025
The best things are worth waiting for. Eric Allen has been waiting for his Gold Jacket for a long time. Too long. Despite having numbers that rival Hall of Famers Champ Bailey, Deion Sanders, and Ronde Barber, Eric Allen still did not have his name in Canton. But on NFL Honors night, we learned that is finally going to change.
In a class stacked with legendary players, Allen will finally enter the NFL Hall of Fame alongside Jared Allen, Sterling Sharpe, and Antonio Gates.
What Makes Eric Allen A Hall Of Famer
Allen’s 54 interceptions are the 21st most in NFL history. His 8 Pick Sixes are 8th in NFL history.
Allen spent the first 7 years of his career in Philly. He made the Pro Bowl in 5 of those seasons, was a 1st team All-Pro once, and a 2nd Team All-Pro twice. The only reason he didn’t have more All-Pros is he played in a golden age for CB play, with Deion Sanders and Rod Woodson having a monopoly on the honor in the 90s.
But make no mistake, Eric Allen was truly great. Primetime Deion Sanders himself has advocated for Eric Allen to be enshrined in Canton.

It might have taken nearly 2 decades for this well-deserved honor, but Eric Allen finally got what he deserved. An immortal place among the greatest players in NFL history.
Allen is the 25th former Eagles to be inducted into the Hall. Joining the likes of Brian Dawkins, Harold Carmichael, Chuck Bednarik, and longtime teammate Reggie White.
By the way, the last time the Eagles won a Super Bowl was right after Brian Dawkins learned he was going into the Hall. Maybe Eric Allen will bring similar luck to this year’s Eagles squad.
Side note: Eli Manning did not get inducted into the Hall of Fame in his first year. He will likely still get in eventually, but it’s good to see the voters get multiple things right this year.
