NFL Week 10/NCAA Week 12: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
Without the Eagles playing this weekend, I still got the chance to enjoy and now opine on what I saw in NFL Week 10. There was the good, the bad, and the ugly. The college game was even in my sights. It was more important than usual as I prepared for my final week of treatment. The NFL was entertaining, and the 76ers are looking amazing. Here are my thoughts…
NFL Week 10
THE GOOD
The San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions both won this weekend. Even one loss would have really helped the Eagles chances to secure the NFC top seed. In fact, both of them looked fantastic. The 49ers defense was flying around, and the Lions offense was unstoppable.
THE BAD
The Cowboys excitedly celebrated on the sidelines once again as they blew out a horrible team. Watching the Dallas sideline always makes me chuckle. When things are good, it’s as if they won a title. When they face adversity, they crumble consistently. They never learn humility until they lose yet another big game.
THE UGLY
The Giants just can’t get things right, but they are now in the second draft position. They may grab a generational quarterback that could actually turn things around for them. Brian Daboll looks lost, and the blowouts mount. Will he get to coach the next savior quarterback?
College Football Week 12
THE GOOD
Getting paid $76 million to go away after failing at Texas A&M is a great deal for Jimbo Fisher. His tenure was an awful deal for the Aggies.
THE BAD
The acting performance of Michigan interim Head Coach Sherrone Moore in his post-game interview was also comical. He was weeping as if someone had died. My guess? His chance in the spotlight to show his “passion” and grab attention for his name as a candidate for openings. Whatever it was it came off horribly contrived. He’s now a meme.
"Coach Harbaugh... I love the sh*t out of you man. I did this for you!"

THE UGLY
James Franklin again proves to be the reigning “bad contract” head coach that Penn State can’t get out from under. His game management was atrocious on Saturday. Not to mention I watched a college football game where the two starting quarterbacks were a combined UNDER 110 yards passing with ten minutes to go.
Philadelphia 76ers
THE GOOD
Tyrese Maxey looks outrageously good after scoring 50 points against the Indiana Pacers. He also appears to love playing for Nick Nurse, as do his teammates. That’s a good thing.
THE BAD
If you wanted the Flyers to be horrible, like the team “Johnny Hockey” has played with for two years, you aren’t getting your wish early on. That’s a bad thing for the tank crowd, but I actually like it.
THE UGLY
James Harden arrived on a title-contending roster, and they promptly lost the first five games since the trade. The Clippers have “the system” now, but I’m not sure what that system has ever produced!
