Once you've finished decorating your living space, crafted some holiday gifts and decorations, and organized your party, you may want to set aside a few days to unwind before Christmas arrives. For many, the holiday season is about spending quality time with friends and family and taking a break.
There are several destinations where you can take a short getaway to recharge, do some Christmas shopping, or relax. These places offer beautiful scenery, charming inns, and a unique small-town atmosphere. This year, if you're considering a getaway, House Beautiful magazine has compiled a list of festive Christmas towns in the U.S.
Pennsylvania’s Bernville makes the list.
Koziar's Christmas Village, located in Bernville, secured the ninth spot on the list, with the magazine highlighting its status as one of the premier attractions in the state. The village is known for displaying over a million lights that adorn not only its buildings and barns but also the entire landscape.
According to the Christmas Village's official website, the tradition of spreading holiday cheer dates back to 1948 when William M. Koziar, the founder of Christmas Village, began decorating his residence and surrounding property. He embarked on this journey to delight not only himself and his wife, Grace, but also their four children, who were all in awe by the unique spectacle. Over time, the public began to recognize the beauty of the Koziar's residence, fondly naming it "The Christmas House."
This Pennsylvania-based Christmas village has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars on Google, with more than 3,460 reviews. One visitor expressed their admiration for the stunning displays, stating, "This is a great place for kids and adults. All of the displays are absolutely beautiful." Another person turned their visits into a family tradition. "Have been visiting here every year with my family for 27 years. We love seeing the lights and how the kids eyes light up with each and every new change."
Koziar’s Christmas Village is scheduled to reopen for its holiday season on November 4.
