Last Year’s Eagles Finally Show Up in 31-17 Win Over Dolphins
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - OCTOBER 22: Darius Slay #2 of the Philadelphia Eagles reacts after making an interception against the Miami Dolphins during the second half of a game at Lincoln Financial Field on October 22, 2023 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
This whole season we have been waiting for the Eagles we saw last year to show up. They came close against the Bucs and the Rams. But in every game this year, and especially in last week’s loss to the Jets, something has been off. But tonight, against their toughest opponent yet, they showed up. With the much-hyped Miami Dolphins coming to town, the Eagles beat them 31-17 to improve to 6-1.
The Dolphins came into the game averaging 100 yards more per game than anyone else. They had just 244 yards tonight. The Dolphins came into the game leading the league in rushing yards. They had just 45 tonight, with 22 coming on a single play. For the rest of the night, they averaged about 2 yards per carry. The Eagles held the often-described most dangerous offense in the league to just 10 points, with the other 7 coming on a Jalen Hurts.
There were really only a couple of drives where the Dolphins even managed to move the ball. The defense has taken a lot of heat this season as they battled injuries and adapted to a new defensive scheme. There have been some struggles from them. But Sean Desai, and the Eagles defense, deserve heaps of praise for what they pulled out tonight.
It was almost as good on the offensive side of the ball. There were some hitches. Hurts turned it over twice including a pick 6 that tied the game. But they put up 31 points, and 355 yards of offense.
It is hard to find any complaints about the night. I am sure some people will find something to nitpick, but it was finally that full team effort, clicking on all cylinders, type of game that we have all been waiting for. This is the team you could see winning a Super Bowl. Its a team that can go into games against the Chiefs and 49ers, and we will all be confident they can leave with another win.

Eagles Kelly Green Mania: 11 Best Social Media Posts
The Philadelphia Eagles will wear their Kelly Green jerseys on Sunday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins. Kelly Green mania has swept Philadelphia since the organization announced the throwback alternate uniforms.
Nick Sirianni
Head coach Nick Sirianni spoke to the media on Wednesday about the appeal of the alternate uniforms.
“I think it’s an exciting thing for the fans, and I think it’s an exciting thing for us. We know we can’t get too wrapped up in that and we’ll be focused…, but it’s cool.” -Nick Sirianni
He shared an interesting story about his college career at Mount Union and how uniforms can add some good energy to the locker room. He added that he can’t get his son to wear anything besides his Kelly Green A.J. Brown jersey.
Wearing a different uniform doesn’t give a team an advantage, but Sirianni spoke with a positive sentiment.
“Look good, feel good, play good, right?” -Sirianni
Eagles Fans in Kelly Green
The color distribution at Lincoln Financial Field in recent seasons has been a little bit surprising. The most successful eras in Eagles history have come in the Midnight Green uniforms, from the peaks of Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid to the miracle ride with Nick Foles in Super Bowl LII to the early success of the Sirianni era.
Why do we still see so many Reggie White and Randall Cunningham jerseys in the crowd then?
The Eagles are more central to the culture of their city than any other team in the NFL. Generations of Philadelphians have passed down fandom to their children and grandchildren. Wearing the Kelly Green has become a tribute to the long history.
Fans of the Philadelphia Eagles have been through hardship, but they’ve come out on the other side.
Wearing Kelly Green reminds Eagles fans that they’ve taken a few punches to get to a point when they can appreciate modern success while honoring the roots of a beloved tradition and the identity of the fan base.
The throwback merchandise sold out faster than the speed of light. Expect Lincoln Financial Field to be painted with Kelly Green on Sunday.
If you need evidence, just look at the excitement on social media from this week.
