You can’t be surprised about what you’re about to read: Philly fans took over Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Philadelphia Eagles steamrolled the Bucs on Monday Night Football in a 25-11 laugher (that wasn’t as close as it sounds) with Pat Egan, Bob Cooney, and Andrew Salciunas in the stands.
Pat estimated that Raymond James had about three-quarters of its stands filled with Eagles fans.
Philly Sports Trips Floods Tampa Bay with Eagles Fans
Vince Rizzuto put together a rowdy group of travelers with Philly Sports Trips for the invasion. A large percentage of the Eagles fans in Florida also spent part of the long weekend in Clearwater in the surrounding area of the Phillies Spring Training facilities.
Pat, Bob, and Andrew told stories on the 97.5 The Fanaaic pregame show that aligned with what you might expect from the most passionate fan base in the NFL. If anyone at the local bars and restaurants had trouble spelling the word “Eagles” before the weekend began, they certainly won’t have the same problem anymore.
The E-A-G-L-E-S chants emphatically rained through the Sunshine State. A sweet surprise on Sunday afternoon only helped the mood when the Dallas Cowboys took an upset loss at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals.
Walking the streets of Clearwater and Tampa meant you'd see green everywhere. A fan base in a lull after losing Tom Brady couldn't compete with the overpowering force that came south from Philadelphia.
ESPN Broadcast Praises Eagles
Joe Buck and Troy Aikman have traveled for enough NFL broadcasts to know how it works. When Eagles fans take over, they REALLY take over.
“There are A LOT of Eagles fans here tonight,” Buck said within minutes after the ESPN broadcast started. Aikman lightheartedly joined in the fun.

The E-A-G-L-E-S chants scattered the background noise on the broadcast all night. The cannon that sounded after the Bucs' garbage time touchdown couldn't drown out the visiting crowd.
The “Let’s Go Eagles” style chorus that’s more common in Phillies and Flyers chants was audible after the Birds built a 25-3 lead in the fourth quarter. Nick Sirianni even walked to the stands after the game to thank fans for the boost on the road.
It’s not like it hasn’t happened before. Philly fans have taken over road stadiums on longer trips to road games against the Los Angeles Rams. They regularly dominate stadiums on shorter bus trips against the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants.
Expect to see the best “road field advantage” in the NFL continue.

The Philadelphia Eagles are one of three NFL teams with a 3-0 record. They will return home in Week 4 of 2023 NFL season to face the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field.
The defending NFC champs defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Week 3.
Philadelphia Eagles Defeat Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Eagles dominated Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football. A fearsome defensive front led by Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis wreaked havoc on the helpless home team. The Philadelphia fans invaded the stadium with a loud and proud takeover.
Jalen Hurts took steps forward with a stronger passing performance. He threw for 277 yards, but some missed throws and two interceptions still leave some room for improvement.
Nick Sirianni just keeps on winning. After a 2-5 start to his career as a head coach, he has won 26 of 34 games.
The Eagles will enter as 8.5 point favorites against Washington in Week 4.
Projected Philadelphia Eagles Week 4 Starters
The Eagles still face some injury concerns as they return to Philadelphia to face the Commanders. Avonte Maddox will miss the remainder of the season. Josh Jobe started as the outside cornerback opposite Darius Slay in Week 3. James Bradberry slid to the slot to play the nickel position.
Nicholas Morrow came up from the practice squad to start in Week 2. He has seamlessly jumped in with a strong game against the Vikings and a big tackle for a safety against the Buccaneers.
Reed Blankenship stepped back into the starting lineup after missing the Week 2 game against Minnesota. Sydney Brown might figure into the rotation more on defense, but Justin Evans will likely hold the other starting safety position if he's healthy.
Injury news that affects the Eagles Week 4 starters will trickle out as the week moves along. The quick turnaround following Monday Night Football will force Sirianni to act quickly.
