The Eagles Week 1 Stock Report- Are Linebackers an Issue?
One week down, and the Eagles are 1-0. That is the good news. The bad news is how that first win looked. Jalen Hurts had his worst game in a while. He was not awful, but he was nowhere near as crisp as we saw all last year. The O-Line was giving up way too much pressure, and not creating the holes in the run game we are used to. And the defense was getting picked apart across the middle of the field.
Still, they did win. That is something 16 other teams can’t say after week 1. The ugliness only matters if it continues into future games. Many teams wish they were in the Eagles spot right now, meaning they survived a bad week 1 performance. The Chiefs and Bengals both struggled and lost. And even while the O-Line, Jalen Hurts, and a few other stars struggled, there were still some positive takeaways.
So who looked good? Who looked bad? Which players came into week 1 and proved they belonged? Are there guys we should be concerned about even if it was just one week? Let’s find out in the week 1 stock report.
I am leaving some notable names off it. Jalen Hurts struggled, but he has enough clout to see his value stay the same after one bad performance. The same can be said about the Eagles O-Line. But these are the names where we learned something about them in week 1. Whether it is learning they can be real players at this level, or learning that they may be an issue going forward.
