Saturday was Fan Fest. And it was the biggest and best one yet. That is mostly thanks to you all who came out and made it so great. Whether it was the great ovation for Eagles legends like Nick Foles and Brian Dawkins, or just the overall atmosphere at the event, you showed up and droves and made it a special day. So this morning, Anthony Gargano took the time to thank you all in his Opening Diatribe.

Here is what Anthony Gargano had to say in his Opening Diatribe this morning:

"Let me just say thank you. Thank you thank you thank you. Because Fan Fest on Saturday was the biggest and the best ever. It was the 10th anniversary, and it was incredible. It really was an amazing event. I don't know how many people were there, 12,000, 15,000, but you had that many people there, together in  Philadelphia, and there were no fights and no nonsense. It was a great outpouring of love. It was family. We were all in it together.

And it really felt like that. We are all in this together, we are all 4 for 4, as a euphemism for everything Philadelphia. That includes the Union, Colleges, kids who make it elsewhere but grew up in Philly. Like Zac Gallen. They are a product of us. I always thought that is how we should be. Yea we will bitch and moan when they do us wrong. But we love.

What I saw on Saturday was one of the most amazing things ever. Every Fan Fest I walk away in awe. It never disappoints. You guys are an amazing bunch. And I don't pander. I just give you how I feel. It was one of the most amazing things ever. That sea of Green, Kelly Green, and Phillies red. It felt like Christmas. Love was in the air. It was special. And I just want to thank you all.

I thought it was beautiful. I loved meeting as many people as I could. Seeing old friends from the past, or meeting new ones."

A beautiful day at the sports complex in South Philadelphia started with a barrage of guests lining up outside the gates to enter the event.

Fanatic listeners showed up in an exciting display of Philadelphia sports fandom. An estimated 10,000 people joined in the festivities.

The loud chants of E-A-G-L-E-S swept through the parking lots the entire day. The crowds quickly flooded Xfinity Live on a memorable afternoon (with no fights for the 10th consecutive time)!

The Fanatic Stage

John Kincade got the festivities going by introducing the Fanatic personalities on the stage outside Xfinity Live. Anthony Gargano stepped up to fire up a crowd hungry to see the Philadelphia Flyers back in the conversation in the local sports landscape.

Bob Cooney, Tyrone Johnson, and Matt Cord ignited the crowd during conversations with Lou Williams and Paul Reed. FanDuel’s Lisa Kerney spoke with Foles, Dawkins, and Sproles.

The special guests captured the love affair with the 76ers, the longing for competitive playoff hockey, and the outrageous passion for the Eagles that characterizes the city of Philadelphia.

The heroes of the Philadelphia fan base talked about their experience in the city, their relationship with the fans, and the outlook of the local teams in 2023. 97.5 The Fanatic is proud to have thrown such an incredible party to show appreciation for the listeners that help the station run every day.

Sproles spoke admirably about overcoming adversity as an undersized NFL running back who had to silence critics over a 15-year career. He made his only three career Pro Bowls as a member of the Eagles.

Brian Dawkins

He was the emotional leader of the Philadelphia Eagles who played every game like it was his last. Very few athletes in any city command as much respect as Brian Dawkins in Philadelphia.
