Pennsylvania Hotel Named the No. 1 ‘Most Historic’ in America
We, of course, have a lot of history in Pennsylvania. Now, the Keystone State has bragging rights when it comes to our hotels. Or, at least one of our hotels. One Pennsylvania hotel has been named the No. 1 most historic hotel in America. You read the right: We’re No. 1.
USA Today’s 10 Best Historic Hotels in the U.S. list was just announced. It features a bevy of great hotels across the country. “USA Today’s 10 Best Historic Hotels in the U.S. list which was just announced today,” they state. “Each of these 10 classic accommodations — nominated for the title of Best Historic Hotel by a panel of hotel experts and voted as the best by readers — has witnessed a great deal of history, and each has held true to its historic roots and unique sense of place.”
The No. 1 most most historic hotel in the U.S., according to the survey, is the Peabody Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee. “The grande dame of Southern hotels, the historic Peabody is a treat for the senses,” the outlet states. “Opulence abounds, dynamite restaurants please the palate, and the famed ducks entertain both adults and children at this hotel dating back to 1869 (it’s been at its current location since 1925).” That sounds very fun.

So, which Pennsylvania hotel is No. 1? The most most historic hotel in the U.S., according to the survey, is the Historic Hotel Bethlehem. That’s in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The hotel has been on the site since 1741, “though the structure was used as a convalescence home for World War I soldiers for a period,” according to USA Today. “Today, guests enjoy modern amenities at this historic setting in the heart of Moravian Bethlehem.” Find the full list of the most historic hotels in all of America via USA Today here.
