What’s Brewing With Jen

See what was brewing with Jen Scordo today. Every day on The Best Show Ever Jen Scordo shares a few recent weird and interesting news stories. Today that includes a creepy creature that was found in Taiwan and an airplane slide falls from the sky into a backyard… Here are her stories from today.

A creepy sea creature has been spotted off the coast of Taiwan recently.  It’s known as the “Doomsday Fish” and it’s freaking people out.  The fish, technically called Russell’s Oarfish, is believed to often appear before huge catastrophes like tsunamis and earthquakes.  So that’s why it’s freaking people out, nit because it’s a super creepy looking fish… The Russell’s Oarfish is very rare and 6 feet long and according to Japanese mythology, its believed that a sighting can precede catastrophes. The creepy looking fish is huge with a long, flat body and usually lives anywhere between 650 feet and 3,000 feet below sea level.  So it’s even more concerning to people since the fish just swam right up to the divers who discovered him. There is no scientific evidence to support that the fish precedes catastrophes, but people are still freaking out.

A flight was making its way to Chicago O’Hare Airport on Monday, but lost its emergency slide on the way in… and the slide fell into the backyard of a family outside of Chicago.  Homeowner Patrick Devitt thankfully wasn’t hurt, but he discovered the huge slide hanging out in his backyard.  It did hit his house on the way down, damaging the roof, the downspout and his kitchen window.  Thankfully the FAA was there shortly after Devitt called 911 and nobody was hurt.
