No need to worry about Phillies yet

Anthony talked about why we dont need to worry about the Phillies yet in his Opening Diatribe this morning...

"That was not a good night last night. I did not expect that. There are times that I am right, and there are times that I am really wrong. And I was really wrong about last night's game. I thought the Phillies would get off the snide with Taijuan Walker. Thought that they would hit, and win the game. It was actually another ew game by the Phils. They have now been outscored 37-12 in their first 4 games. Including 28-5 over the last 3. It is ugly for sure. Now again, I will say this every day if I have to. It is not a worry

But I can feel the angst from everyone. It is like this pressure that is just there. It is 4 games in and I already feel it. Just relax. They could be 5-15, and I will still have the same reaction. Once you get into June, that is when you go alright, better turn it on. We haven't even reached double digits in April. I can't go 4 games, the sky is falling.

They don't look prepared to play. They look like a football team that is not ready for the start of the season. They're not in sync. The only one that looks like he is in sync is Bohm. Who has been sensational at the plate. But their pitching, they don't look like they threw enough in the spring.

My only worry is... there seems to be this growing angst. Sometimes we have this weird glee when things go bad. It is just a vibe because as I hear reaction after the game, it almost has a sick gleeful tone to it. Is that just social media? or do we have this weird twisted thing that we go through? I just felt ew, that was ugly. And I will be honest with you, a little disappointed."

Exclusive Courtside Photos From The 2023 Fanatic Knockout Tournament

The annual Fanatic Knockout Tournament never fails to bring us a great time at a Philadelphia 76ers game, interaction with some of our regular listeners, and fierce rivalries between hosts looking for bragging rights over the next year.

The Sixers took down the Dallas Mavericks 116-108, and Ryan from Collegeville took home the Knockout trophy after an intense game on the court at the Wells Fargo Center after the game.

All listeners who participated enjoyed a night at the Sixers-Mavs game on us and a fun time on the floor in a solid round of a game that brings (sometimes unexpected) intensity every time. Luckily, there were no schoolyard moves when a player chucks an opponent’s ball away to play illegal defense.

Tyrone Johnson worked the mic, and Connor Thomas was the last member of the Fanatic staff standing.

Tom Alvord, the station’s defending champ from 2022, elected for some load management by producing the Sixers game back at the station in a selfless effort.

How will the conversation between Connor and Tom play out to open their Sunday morning show?
