Dave Zangaro Joins The Best Show Ever During the Bye Week
We have a bit more than a week left until it is game time. But this weekend we have to deal with the bye week. And in anticipation of the game, The best Show Ever talked to Dave Zangaro from NBC Sports Philly. Should we be concerned about Avonte Maddox? Will Jason Kelce retire after the game? See what Dave Zangaro had to say when he joined us below.
On the Health of Avonte Maddox
“He is still dealing with the same injury he has been dealing with since Christmas Eve. I was told it was more precautionary, just trying to keep it stable. Didn’t make sense for him to practice this week. Still trending toward him being able to play… The expectation is for them to have all 22 of their starters. That doesn’t mean they will all be 100%… But all things considered, having 22 of your starters in the Super Bowl is pretty insane. It doesn’t happen very often.”
On if Winning the Super Bowl Will Impact Whether Jason Kelce Retires
“He said he doesn’t think it will. I don’t know if he can know that though until he can go through it. I understand his answer is that he just wants to play until he no longer wants to play. And everyone he has talked to has said you’ll know when it is over. I don’t know if it is that simple. We have seen so many guys retire and then decide to come back because they miss elements of playing NFL football. I think human nature may take over. If they win this game there is an appeal to going out on top. I don’t want to speak for him, but I think that is human nature in some ways.”
