Kevin Negandhi Previews Eagles vs 49ers
Kevin Negandhi represents Philly every day when he anchors Sportscenter. And to discuss his beloved Eagles, he joined The Anthony Gargano Show. What does he think the keys to the Eagles winning are? Are there matchups he thinks the Eagles can exploit? Here is what Kevin Negandhi had to say about the upcoming Eagles-Niners NFC Championship game.
His Response To Anthony Saying He feels good about the Eagles in this game…
“It is weird, but I kinda get where you are going with feeling great about the game. One of the reasons why is after watching what that Cowboys defense did. If they had better QB play, a number 2 WR, and Pollard is playing… Listen that Qb looked scared there. 75 sacks in 18 games. Just think about that. If we can get into that backfield with this secondary…
I’m concerned about two big things. The quick pass, specifically to Deebo and DMC on screens, to get the ball out of Purdy’s hands because of the rush. And Kittle across the middle. Those are the two big things. I will counteract on the other side though, the 49ers’ secondary is average. CeeDee Lamb had 9 catches. If they had another WR that Dak actually trusted, completely different ballgame.”
Keys to Beating the 49ers
“The bottom line is can you pressure the rookie QB? In the end, he is still a rookie in this environment. If you look at who the 49ers have faced when he has played, they haven’t played a lot of tough teams. The 49ers gave up 34 points to the Raiders with Jarrett Stidham. So the Eagles have places where they can exploit and attack.
And don’t forget the strength is our offensive line. They have to dominate the same way they did in the opening drive vs the Giants. Like you and I talked about last week. I want to punch you in the face in the opening drive. It set the tone the rest of the day that you ain’t going to do jack against us. And I want to see something similar this week.”
