Anthony’s Opening Diatribe- The NFC Title Game Goes Through Philly
The NFC Title Game Goes Through Philly, and Anthony discussed that in his Opening Diatribe this morning…
“An Amazing game on Saturday Night at Lincoln Financial Field. On the anniversary of the NFC Title Victory over the Vikings. The same score. On a Saturday night win over the Giants. The NFC Title game goes through Philadelphia, Sunday at 3 o’clock, against Purdy and the Niners… It was a party right from the first possession. Where the Eagles went down the field, 8 plays 75 yards… The Eagles take the 7-0 lead. Right off the bat, they flexed. And then it was about how badly they harassed Daniel Jones… Next thing you know it is 21-0.

— Middays w/ Bob Cooney (@975Middays) January 23, 2023It was not even a sweat. The Birds just flexed their dominance. You have a couple of key injured guys who deserve so much praise. Lane Johnson is tremendous, just a freaking warrior. Jalen Hurts just played his ass off again. If there was any bit of rust… well they were tremendous Saturday.
Two wins from another parade. Obviously, it is not going to be easy. But I still keep going back to this. The Niners team is good, but they are not an unbeatable inpenatratable team. From the beginning, I said they are the biggest threat in the NFC. So they are good, but the Eagles should be able to win this game…
They should be able to exploit the Niners’ secondary. The Niners’ defense is really good. Their front 7 can create a lot of havoc. But where the Eagles have the advantage, is the Eagles’ receivers, vs the Niners’ secondary. I think you can make plays on that Niners secondary. They are tough to run against. But I’m expecting Jalen to be able to get the ball down the field.
And on defense, this Eagles front gets after you. Howie may have saved the season. I think Howie solidified what we think should be a Superbowl run when he got Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh to solidify the front. I feel much better going into this game with Jordan Davis back, and obviously Suh and Joseph. That is a stroke of genius, that will ensure the Super Bowl for us.”
